Floating World
Project type
Japanese Paint Art
Ukiyo-e means pictures of the floating world. Centuries ago that meant a Japanese city of theatres and river crossings. Here it means a city built on water and sand, drawn with the same patience: flat color, deliberate line, weather given as much attention as architecture. Two visual traditions, one skyline.
